Eighteen years later, while consulting on data for football clubs, I still see Vietnamese technical meetings circle around three familiar keywords: fitness, mentality, experience. All three are true, and none of them measure anything.

In badminton the infrastructure gap is even plainer. Major BWF events run camera systems that track shuttle trajectory and publish coordinate data for every stroke. National teams are not on the access list. Domestic venues have almost no fixed measurement equipment. One side observation about crowds. In matches with a full grandstand, home players' rest intervals run 1.8 seconds shorter than in near-empty halls. The noise pushes them back to the line faster. Their win rate on the following point does not improve at all, and slips slightly. The crowd is the real home advantage, and it does not appear in any ranking table.

The next round sits somewhere else.
